This is a really interesting post. I need to think more about it, but here's an initial thought. I’m wondering whether there is an extent to which being blamed causes us to lose epistemic confidence, or at least it aims to do so. When it comes to moral blame it might aim (among other things) to make us lose confidence in the moral beliefs that were expressed in the action we are being blamed for. But then it seems a little weird if blame aims (at least in the short term) to turn blamees into non or less responsible agents. This is just a quick thought, but I wonder what you think about it.
