Great work Jason and Aneyn! Not surprisingly, I'm inclined to say that most people associate the 'making a choice' concept with free will and responsibility more than the 'having a choice' concept, but there's lots more interesting work to be done here.

If it helps motivate the philosophers to take a look at the paper, I'll note that studies 4 and 5 use Frankfurt cases (with manipulated choice versions).

Thanks!

I am also inclined to think that most people associate making a choice with free will. I think the publish research suggest this, but more work definitely needs to be done. am sure our incompatibilist friends have a very different take, though! ;)
